Version 1.0 of the algorithmic score-designing system, FormBuilder is available. FormBuilder incorporates ScoreBuilder (an application written in Tabula Vigilans.) Composers are able to specify the rules for the creation of musical compositions, for a wide range of ensembles ranging from solo instruments to full orchestra. They do this by creating in FormBuilder a form-file which is then used by ScoreBuilder to create the output score file, which can be entered into Sibelius or other musical notation programs. Once the form-file is created, it takes at most a few seconds for the score to be ready for viewing, editing, printing or auditioning.

Available for download from the website is a free trial - for PC only - of the program. This is a full working version, limited in that only one section of the composition can be created (rather than up to 100 sections in the licensed version). The trial version is limited to one month’s usage. A licence for the full version is available for £79.95, including full manuals and one year’s updates.

Download the trial version, or purchase the full licence, from the
                                FormBuilder/ScoreBuilder page.
Extended functionality in Tabula Vigilans.

The functionality of the musical algorithmic software language Tabula Vigilans has been considerably extended with the availability of Version 1.38.. Among recent developments are:
    1.  Ability to run external programs with a system call. TV temporarily halts execution of the
current script while the external program is run.
    2. Ability to execute an external program with a spawn call. The execution of the current script is
not suspended, so that, for example, it is possible to play a MIDI-output script, and at a
desired time, while the MIDI performance continues, play back an existing sound-file.
    3. Ability to close store-files at arbitrary points in a script, and then open other store-files. This
enables the user to write data-files and then use that information with external programs (e.g.
         by a system call).
    4. Using system and/or spawn it is now possible to access the entire range of Composers’
Desktop Project (CDP) programs within the Tabula Vigilans environment. The CDP sound-
processing programs can be run with real-time algorithmic generation of parameters. This
brings the prospect of using Tabula Vigilans to generate entire electro-acoustic compositions
         into reality.

NOTE
Tabula Vigilans is available to composer/programmers from the CDP for £39.95.
